The Children’s Museum of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio, a nonprofit organization, has inspired children, connected families, and built community through exploration, exhibits, programming, and play since we opened our doors in July 2014. The Children’s Museum of Findlay offers 24 hands-on exhibits for kids ages 0-10. Our locally-focused displays provide a safe place where kids can be creative and stretch their imaginations to explore STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) concepts. Play is one of the best ways for children to increase their health and develop mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially…it’s at the core of everything we do! School groups, children with special needs, parents, caregivers, and teachers use the Museum space as a place to learn and play. Partnerships with community organizations help us provide weekly educational programming for members and non-members throughout the year.
Exhibits
Children learn the fundamentals of banking in this fun exhibit! At the Kids Bank, little ones can be drive-up tellers, practice filling out forms (including withdrawals and deposits), and even loan their parents a little bit of money! The Bank Manager’s desk is also an excellent place for the little leader who wants to keep the business running.
Dentist
The dental office has a health-sciences basis and lets kids be a dentist! The exhibit has actual dental equipment and oversized play instruments for the kids to pretend. Kid-sized cabinets let our visitors grab the gear they need to work on toothy stuffed animals or review x-rays. Blanchard Valley Pediatric Dentistry sponsors them.
Farm
This exhibit shows kids all about the farm! From the table where kids can pretend to drive a tractor, harvest apples, and take care of all our farm animals! Sponsored by the Hancock County Farm Bureau, this exhibit focuses on the main business in our region: farming. EZ Findlay Pest Control
Glow Zone
Ever wonder why certain things glow? In our new Glow Zone, children can explore drawing with black lights on glow walls, creating constellations, and building scenes with glow-in-the-dark materials. Or, create your masterpiece on our giant-sized Lite Brite.
Recycling Truck
Learn all about recycling! In this exhibit, kids can step into a kid-sized Waste Management recycling truck and operate the lights! Kids can pretend to drive down one of Findlay’s most beautiful streets, and they can sort recyclables using the sorter in the rear of the truck. We also have shelving full of toys made from recycled materials so the kids can see that used items can be made into something new!
